This course is designed for Medical Assistants, Respiratory Therapist, and Paramedics entering into the Transition program and will introduce the framework of the nursing process to non-nurse health care providers desiring to transition into the role of the registered nurse. Fundamental nursing concepts related to role transition and the introduction of nursing practices will be emphasized along with essential nursing core competencies including the knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide safe nursing practice. This course also provides the opportunity for participants to observe, review and practice in nursing skills in a simulated laboratory setting.Critical Thinking and Clinical Analysis will be introduced along with the Nursing Process. (NUR 1006 is required for LicensedMedical Assistant, Paramedic and/or Respiratory Therapist students only).
