The course provides an overview of the career of sign language interpreter. Included are the interpreter's role and responsibilities, Code of Ethics issues, evaluation systems for determining competency and logistical considerations. Various statutes will be examined with regard to their implications for interpreting and related services. These include The American with Disabilities Act (ADA), the education for all Handicapped Children Act and the Rehabilitation Act.
Prerequisites: ASL 1150C, 1000
