INS2310 — Religion and Global Politics

The interdisciplinary course introduces students to the increasingly visible role of religious identity in international and global politics. It offers a macro-level overview of the intersection of religion and politics in a historical context and sheds light on the intertwined histories and trajectories connecting them. It explores how this nexus has been shaped by belief and value systems as well as the historical socio-economic and political circumstances and conditions. Among the themes addressed in the course are religious diversity and human rights, inter-faith dialogue and conflict resolution, and religion in the age of globalization.
