The Medical Assistant program at Macomb Community College trains students to work as the first health care professional patients encounter in clinical settings. Students learn anatomy, physiology, medical office procedures, insurance, diagnostic and laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, pharmaceuticals, and infection control. The program leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree and prepares graduates for the American Association of Medical Assistants' National Certification exam. Credits transfer toward a bachelor's degree. The program is accredited by CAAHEP upon recommendation of MAERB.
