Health Information Technology prepares students to maintain secure electronic medical records and serve as liaisons between health care providers, patients, and insurance companies. The program covers diagnostic and procedural coding, pharmacology, health care statistics, data informatics, and legal and accreditation issues. Accredited by CAHIIM through 2031, the program is a selective admissions program within Macomb's Health and Human Services Division. Graduates are recognized for precision and professionalism; many work remotely. Recent outcomes include an 88% first-time RHIT exam pass rate and 100% graduate satisfaction.

Prerequisites: Selective admissions: specific testing requirements or minimum GPA in prerequisite courses required; applicants encouraged to meet with an academic advisor prior to submitting application
