(replaces but does not equate to NURS-1620) This theory course focuses on planning safe, culturally-diverse, patient-centered nursing care for patients experiencing sleep, vision, hearing, immobility, and end-of-life care problems. The course presents an introduction to cancer as well as the concept of spirituality as utilized in patient-centered care. It emphasizes using evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives to develop critical thinking skills in caring for patients and their families and addresses growth and development of older adults.
