This course is the lab for DNHY 1116 which explores prenatal development; the development, histological and anatomical characteristics, and developmental disturbances of human primary and permanent teeth; and the anatomical features and functions of the oral tissues and of the head and neck. Students acquire in-depth understanding of embryology, oral histology, dental anatomy, the anatomy of the head and neck, and their relationship to dental hygiene clinical practice. Clinical application will be explored regarding occlusion, anesthesia, mastication, and identification of variations in anatomy. (1 billable contact hrs)
