This course provides students with an in-depth exploration of pharmacodynamics and pharmacotherapy, emphasizing the development of clinical judgment to support the safe administration, management, and monitoring of drug regimens. Students will examine principles of pharmacokinetics in the treatment of illness and the promotion and maintenance of health. Through the integration of evidence-based practice guidelines and safety considerations in caring for diverse populations across the lifespan, students will explore the nurse’s role and responsibilities in medication administration, while also considering ethical and legal standards in pharmacology.
