POSC 203 — International Relations

Examines the relations that exist among nation-states and non-state actors. Particular emphasis is placed upon the factors/variables contributing to national power, instruments used by nation-states and non-state actors to promote self-interests and the methods used to influence interstate relations. Concepts such as international law, balance of power, pacific settlement of disputes gender and human rights dilemmas, and international organizations will be explored. Prerequisites: POSC 101
