HEAL 130 — Phlebotomy Technician

This course prepares students for employment as a phlebotomy technician in clinical laboratories. Students will learn law and ethics for phlebotomists, infection control standards and safety guidelines, specimen collection techniques, and quality assurance methods. This course requires the completion of a minimum of 100 hours of supervised clinical practice in addition to classroom lectures and lab demonstrations. Upon successful completion of this course and clinical practice, students will be eligible to sit for a national certification exam. Prerequisites: HEAL 101 and HEAL 103 and BIOL 107 or 110 Additional Course Fee: $75.00
