Contemporary dramatic writing by reading modern plays representative of various countries, such as Russia, France, South Africa and Norway as well as England and America. Examples of chief dramatic types that have flourished from Ibsen to present day: realism, naturalism, symbolism and expressionism. Develops appreciation of drama and theatre. Prerequisites: ENGL101 (may be taken concurrently)
