The LPN to AAS-N Bridge Transition program at Jackson College is designed for licensed practical nurses (LPNs) seeking to become Registered Nurses (RNs). Building on prior nursing experience, the program combines classroom instruction, lab work, and clinical training. Admission is competitive, with application deadlines of May 31 for Fall and September 1 for Spring. Graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensing exam. The program holds approval from Michigan LARA and accreditation from the NLN Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
Prerequisites: Current, unencumbered Michigan LPN license, At least 1,000 LPN work hours (documented on agency or HR letterhead), High school diploma or GED, BIO 253 – Human Anatomy & Physiology I with 2.5 or higher by application deadline, BIO 254 – Human Anatomy & Physiology II with 2.5 or higher before starting program, CEM 131 – Fundamentals of Chemistry with 2.0 or higher, MAT 133 – Introduction to Probability & Statistics (or higher) with 2.0 or higher, ENG 131 – English Composition I (before or during Semester 3, Level 3), PSY 130 – Introduction to Psychology (before or during Semester 2, Level 3), GEO #6 General Education Outcome (before or during Semester 3, Level 3), Kaplan Admissions Assessment Test minimum composite score of 62%, NLN Foundations of Nursing (NACE1) minimum score of 75, NLN Pharmacology Exam minimum score of 75 (or approved waiver), Health Assessment Skills Practicum minimum score of 78, Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges, Placement assessments in writing, reading, and math
