The Corrections program at Jackson College equips students with a foundation in criminal justice and correctional practices, combining academic coursework with practical knowledge in human relations, legal principles, and inmate management. Students gain exposure to various correctional environments and complete coursework aligned with Michigan Correctional Officers Training Council requirements. The Associate in Applied Science prepares graduates for careers in adult or juvenile correctional facilities and related fields, qualifying them for higher-level positions, supervisory roles, or specialized rehabilitation programs. A certificate option also exists for entry-level preparation.
