STS 2323C — Surgical Specialties & Procedures I

In this course, students learn to identify various types of surgical interventions and corresponding anatomical systems of the body. Perioperative case management, instrumentation, equipment, and procedural steps are defined and discussed with focus on the following specialties: general, obstetrics, gynecology, genitourinary, orthopedics, and plastic/reconstructive. The perioperative care of the individualized patient is included.

Prerequisites: STS 1302, STS 1177C, STS 1340C, STS 1380C, STS 1947L
