SCM 2360 — Quality Process Improvement and Yellow Six Sigma Belt

This course introduces the tools, methods, and structured problem-solving approaches used to improve process perfor- mance and eliminate waste across manufacturing, logistics, and broader supply chain operations. Students learn to apply Lean and Six Sigma principles through the DMAIC (Define – Measure – Analyze – Improve - Control) framework to identify root causes, streamline material and information flows, and strengthen end-to-end process reliability. Emphasis is placed on hands-on application, team-based problem solving, and measurable improvement of real or simulated supply chain processes. The course aligns with the ASQ Six Sigma Yellow Belt Body of Knowledge and prepares students to contribute effectively to continuous improvement initiatives in sourcing, production, distribution, and customer service environments. math skills are required.
