RAT 2901L — Simulation Lab I

1 credits · 1 hours

The simulation lab is designed to give the students individual hands on experience with a radiation therapy simulator and a general knowledge of the typical treatment methods for the types of cancers treated with external beam radiation therapy. Each student will use the simulator to perform simulated treat- ment areas on an anthropomorphic phantom, "Pixie." Each treatment area is reviewed in the simulation lecture to include the treatment technique, field arrangement, treatment parame- ters, dose prescription, and adjacent critical normal tissues with their tolerance doses and side effects. College level reading, writing, and math skills are required.
