NUR 3145 — Pharmacology

Learners within this course will examine medications pre- scribed to patients for a variety of illnesses and symptoms. Dis- cussions will occur about factors that can influence the effectiveness of the medication within the body, the actions of drugs, therapeutic and adverse effects, and food and drug in- teractions of these drugs used in the treatment of acute and chronic diseases while gaining a deeper understanding of the nurses' role as it relates to medication therapy. Learners will generate a deeper understanding of legal aspects of drug ad- ministration as well as patient education in collaboration with other treatment modalities and team members needed in pa- tient care. are required. NUR 3805 and proof of active, unrestricted, unen- cumbered RN license.
