This course will cover the theoretical aspects of the immunohe- matology section of the laboratory. Students will cover the study of blood group antigens, antibodies and basic immunol- ogy. The theory of blood genetics, blood group systems and pre-transfusion practices, and quality control concepts in the immunohematology laboratory will be discussed.
