This course is a continuation of MLS 2464. Emphasis will be placed on the correlation between pathogens, types of infec- tion, and specimen source. Study of parasites and fungi of im- portance will be explored. The identification of the diagnostic stages, and knowledge of specimen collection, handling, and processing will be discussed. Lectures will continue the dis- cussion of quality control procedures in the microbiology la- boratory.
