MLS 2001L — Laboratory Techniques I

This is a foundational course which covers clinical laboratory techniques. Students will learn how to draw blood using uni- versal precautions and following OSHA regulations. Labora- tory practicums will include macroscopic and microscopic analysis of the urine specimen, immunology and immunohe- matology techniques with blood specimens. Basic hematologi- cal techniques will be introduced to conduct whole blood analysis and differentials. Initial microbiological techniques will be introduced in the laboratory. program.
