Addresses cultural diversity and its implications for counsel- ing and human services practice. It considers the psychological impact of factors such as sex, race, ethnicity and culture, reli- gious preference, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and physical disability. Common stereotypes and prejudices to- ward various groups and cultures are investigated. Strategies for overcoming prejudice are studied. Interventions and strate- gies for working effectively in a helping capacity with diverse clients are discussed.
