This course provides an introduction to the study of letter- forms and typography as fundamental elements of design. It focuses on how typography can be used as a visual communi- cations device as well as a graphic, compositional and expres- sive element. The course will provide a groundwork for effective typographic design upon which other design ele- ments can be built.
