EVS 1042 — Water Resources with Applications in Geographic Infor- mation Systems (GIS)

This course is an introduction to water resources with applica- tions in geographic information systems software. Prior GIS experience is not required, but familiarity with Windows is. In this course students will learn the basics of water resource sci- ence and management as well as the basics of GIS software. Topics to be studied include the basics of: GIS software; hydro- logic science; and global, regional, and local water resource management issues. Special emphasis will be placed on the water resources of Florida.
