This course provides information on the principles of perio- dontology pertinent to dental hygiene practice. Topics include periodontal care modifications for systemic conditions, deci- sion making during treatment planning, helping patients change behavior, periodontal surgical concepts, periodontal maintenance, periodontal/endodontic emergencies, implantol- ogy and maintenance, and future directions of periodontal pa- tients.
