Dental Hygiene Instrumentation Lab introduces the student to the practical skills necessary for basic instrumentation. Labora- tory sessions are included to demonstrate proficiency in utiliz- ing dental hygiene instruments and dental charting. Additional topics that will be covered in laboratory include professionalism and ethics, communication skills, asepsis and maintenance of hand instruments and hand pieces, patient as- sessment, oral prophylactic procedures, and dental charting.
