Introduction to Dance includes aesthetic, vocational, social and historical aspects of world dance forms, including selections from the Western canon. This course is an introductory class that examines dance as a primary mode of human expression and communication. This course introduces dance as an art form and will enhance knowledge of the historical, cultural and aesthetic aspects of dance. Students encounter the basic content and methodology of the principle areas of knowledge of dance through an examination of its related systems, roles, and structures.
