This first course in the non-invasive cardiology series deals with the theory, rationale, application, performance and inter- pretation of a standard 2D echocardiogram. Standard views recommended by the American Society of Echocardiography will be performed. Measurements from M-mode and 2D will be discussed and demonstrated. This course will cover funda- mentals of color flow imaging and spectral Doppler. Normal and abnormal values will be discussed.
