MAC1140 — Precalculus Algebra

. "C" in MAC1105. This course affords students a mastery of foundational mathematical and computation models and methods by applying such models and methods in problem solving. 1. Polynomial, rational, and other algebraic functions, their properties and graphs 2. Polynomial and rational inequalities 3. Exponential and logarithmic functions, their properties and graphs 4. Piecewise defined functions 5. Conic sections 6. Matrices and determinants 7. Sequences and series 8. Mathematical induction 9. Binomial theorem. A graphing calculator is required. The TI-83/84 are the only allowable calculators for test days. If a student wishes to use any other calculator they must see their instructor in advance for approval. NOTE: While MAC1114, Plane Trigonometry is not a faculty at GCSC strongly suggest that you take MAC1140, Pre-Calculus before taking MAC1114, Plane Trigonometry. +
