The GCC Associate Degree in Nursing is a 2-year, 64-credit program preparing graduates to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam and work as Registered Nurses. Approved by the Michigan State Board of Nursing, first-year classes are held in Ironwood or Houghton; second-year classes in Ironwood with video conference attendance available. Clinicals are conducted across the Houghton and Ironwood regions, with possible specialty rotations in Marquette and Lac Du Flambeau. An LPN-to-RN Advanced Standing track is also available.
Prerequisites: Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in prerequisite courses, BIO 250 Human Anatomy (minimum grade B-, within past 7 years), ENG 101 English Composition (minimum grade C, within past 5 years), PSY 101 General Psychology (minimum grade C), Valid Nurse Aide Certification, Place in Math 104/108 or complete Math 103/105 with C or higher (within past 5 years), COL 102 with C or higher, Pass criminal background check, Pass drug screen, Meet immunization and clinical guidelines including CPR certification (BLS or Healthcare Provider level)
