GCC's Class B Straight Truck program prepares students for commercial driver licensing through extensive classroom training, hands-on vehicle activities, and behind-the-wheel practice. Topics include safety, FMCSA regulations, truck mechanical parts, vehicle inspection, basic maneuvers, driving techniques, and trucking industry practices. Students enter without a Commercial Learner's Permit; the college prepares them to test for both their CLP and CDL. ADA equipment accommodations are available. Program completion does not guarantee CDL licensure.
Prerequisites: Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination
