FOR 226 — Wildlife Habitat

Understand the ecological basis for management of forest wildlife and how forest management influences wildlife populations. Laboratory introduces techniques in wildlife research and management, especially methods of habitat analysis. With sufficient effort on both our parts, at the end of the course you will be able to: (1) sample and quantify habitat characteristics, (2) model habitat quality & vertebrate use of terrestrial resources, (3) understand spatial technologies applied to wildlife habitat, (4) manage forests for wildlife and, (5) understand habitat conservation planning.
