Glen Oaks Community College sponsors experienced riders to become certified Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) RiderCoaches. The RiderCoach Preparation Course runs 8–10 days, combining classroom and on-cycle instruction. Upon certification, RiderCoaches teach motorcycle safety courses on weekends from May through September, earning pay per course taught. GOCC supports applicants through prep course registration, materials, and sponsorship with the Michigan Secretary of State. No prior teaching experience is required. Certified instructors must complete a basic rider course within one year of completing the RiderCoach instructor course.
Prerequisites: Be 18 years or older, Hold a valid driver's license with a motorcycle (CY) endorsement, Have no more than 6 points on your driving record within the 12 months before applying, Successfully complete the MSF RiderCoach Preparation Course
