Short-term certificate for experienced Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) seeking to advance their healthcare career. In 8 weeks, students build on existing knowledge and prepare for the State of Michigan Medication Aide Certification Exam. Classes meet in person twice weekly with required Friday clinicals. Topics include safe medication administration in skilled nursing facilities, pharmacology basics, documentation practices, legal and ethical responsibilities, and patient rights. Developed with local employers to meet regional demand and provide a clear advancement path for working CNAs in Michigan and Indiana.

Prerequisites: Be at least 18 years old, Hold a current, unrestricted State of Michigan CNA license, Have completed a state-approved nurse aide training program, Have worked 2,000+ hours as a CNA in a nursing home or skilled nursing facility within the last 2 years, Valid driver's license or state ID, Proof of active CNA certification, Employer letter verifying 2,000 hours on official letterhead with contact info
