FFP 0360C - Fire Science Apparatus Operator Add to Personal Catalog FFP 0360C - Fire Science Apparatus Operator Clock Hours: 80 Occupational The fire service apparatus operator training program consists of a minimum of 80-hours of training. It is the certification level of training and competency for all individuals performing firefighting duties involving the operations and functions of fire service vehicles. Training courses are delivered by state certified and approved instructors. The fire apparatus operator program content includes, but is not limited to, an understanding of hydraulics and fluid dynamics, principles of fire department water supply, nomenclature and operations of fire apparatus, appliances, municipal and rural water systems, maintenance, and safety in operational procedures. The course curriculum must be completed, in its entirety, for an individual to be eligible to test for certification under Florida Statute 633.34.  The curriculum has been established by the State Fire Marshal’s Office Bureau of Fire Standards & Training.
