Department of Transportation, National Standard Curriculum for Emergency Medical Technician - Basic as they are applied to patients in the hospital and field settings. This course includes a minimum of three 12-hour clinical shifts for a total of 36 hours of hospital emergency room experience, and a minimum of three 12-hour rescue shifts for a total of at least 36 hours of rescue experience which must include a minimum of 5 emergency responses with patient transports on designated units.
