Provides a theoretical framework for students to understand mental health and mental illness. Emphasizes use of the nursing process to provide and manage care for individuals of various ages and cultural groups with psychiatric disorders and chemical dependence. This theory course has a concurrent lab course. Credit may be earned in only one of NUR 119W, NPT 119W , or NT 219W .
