Provides a theoretical framework for students to understand mental health and mental illness. Emphasizes use of the nursing process to provide and manage care for individiuals of various ages and cultural groups with psychiatric disorders and chemical dependence. This theory course has a concurrent lab course. Credit may be earned in only one of NPT 119W, NUR 119W or NT 219W .
