Theory and methods for teaching mathematics in the elementary school, contemporary approaches to teaching concepts, number systems, numeration systems, computational algorithms, problem solving, informal geometry, measurement and other math related topics. This course requires a minimum grade “C”. Current background check (fingerprinting) acceptable to the district in which the field experience will take place is required for this course. Ten (10) hours practicum are required for course completion.
