Forensic marine science lab introduces students to the tools, technology, and laboratory techniques associated with forensic science as it is applied to marine ecosystem disturbances. During the lab, students will apply knowledge gained in the accompanying Forensic Marine Science lecture with regard to identification, documentation, collection, and preservation of physical evidence, including chain of custody procedures. Students will apply the methods and processes associated with forensic science in the event of marine ecological disturbances and/or to support the enforcement of marine law.
