A lecture-lab course on two and four cycle diesel engines, from 5 to 1800 HP. Overview of all important construction features, types of engines, and relationship of engine parts. Laboratory consists of disassembling, inspecting and assembling Caterpiller, Detroit Diesel, Yanmar, Cummins, Volvo, Perkins and other engines. Using manufacturers literature, each student in lab will submit written reports on engines condition, parts list, and measurements.
