MEA 1331C — Office Management for Health Professions

This course introduces medical office administrative procedures such as credit, collections, banking, bookkeeping, inventory management, vendor relationships, payroll, personnel, and community collaboration/partnerships. In this course emphasis is placed on managing administrative procedures in the medical office setting. Topics will include health insurance, billing, reimbursement, coding, medical transcribing and dictation equipment, telephone procedures and triage, and physician interaction. Public relations, and interpersonal relations of the healthcare team members and other front office functions such as scheduling, patient interaction, medical office automation, and legal and ethical issues will also be covered.
