This course provides instruction in basic lab techniques used by the medical assistant. Lab safety, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations, Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, collecting and processing specimens, sharps and medical waste management, performing diagnostic screening tests, and immunizations will be covered.
